RFTC Committee

The Racquet for the Cure Committee is made up of active and committed racquetball enthusiasts and supporters who are passionate about finding a cure for breast cancer. AND RFTC is looking for new members to join the volunteer organizing group ... interested? Contact any of the committee members at the emails linked below, for more details.

Racquet for the Cure was initiated by Cindi Middlekauff in 2000, followed by aid and development by Missy Zantop. From 2002-2007, Jean Gallagher served as committee chair and spearheaded efforts to organize events nationwide. Current co-chairs / committee members are shown at right.

Promotions, Marketing & Website
Linda Mojer designed RacquetfortheCure.com, and manages all content, ongoing promotions and development. Former editor of RACQUETBALL magazine, Linda featured the inaugural RFTC event in that publication and later joined the organizing committee to assist in marketing the concept.
Tournament Management & Player Relations
Marcia Richards is a long-time elite competitor in her own right (and President of the Colorado Racquetball Association), who manages the many draw/scheduling details and administrative projects that are required by major tournaments in the state, like Racquet for the Cure - Denver.
DAC Venue & Pro Tour Liaison
Jo Shattuck is a top-ranked tour athlete on the Women's Professional Racquetball Organization (WPRO) circuit, as well as a world-class racquetball instructor and clinician. She is the Racquetball Director for the Denver Athletic Club, which has hosted Racquet for the Cure - Denver since 2004.
 
Top Pro takes Fundraisers on the Road ... RFTC organizer and top-ranked women's professional athlete Jo Shattuck has developed a Racquet for the Cure clinic program that offers great instruction while raising funds "for a cure" at sites across the country.

Shattuck's RacquetballAcademy.com website offers both her introductory "37 Secrets of the Pro Tour" and advanced "The Science of Stroke Mechanics" — individually or in a back-to-back schedule that allows players of all levels to take part. [ schedule ]

In April of 2008, Shattuck opened the spring season with a paired set of clinics at the Lonetree Recreation facility in south Denver on April 7, then followed up with another "37 Secrets" clinic at the Women's Professional Racquetball Organization National Championships in New Orleans.

Shattuck is currently ranked on the women's tour, and is an online commentator at RacquetballOnline.tv.
